32 grade refers to the thickness or ‘viscosity’ of the hydraulic oil; the higher this number, the thicker the oil. You may see these terms written as VG 32, or AW 32, which just means ‘anti-wear.’

*Demulsibility measures an oils ability to release water. Water that enters a hydraulic system can mix together with the oil and cause dust, grit, and dirt to collect, which can adversely affect the operation of valves, and pumps. It can also increase wear and corrosion, promote fluid oxidation, deplete additives, and plug filters. Highly refined mineral oils permit water to separate or demulsify readily.
